- Go under the Citywest bridge and take the next exit.
- At top of the exit ramp, turn left.
- This is the Dublin Outer Ring Road (R136).
- Heading for Lucan, follow the road through all roundabouts and traffic lights until you reach the end of the road at a T-Junction beside a Woodies DIY
- At Woodies, turn left
- Take the next turn Right
- At the bottom of the hill there is a small roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout
- This takes you over the Liffey Bridge.
- Immediately the other side of the bridge, turn right.
- Take next turn left (about 1KM down this road). This brings you up a sharp hill.
- Fort Lucan is at the top of the hill on the left hand side
